reforest, restore & rebalance
The Nile Foundation, an independent non-profit organization, develops and implements high-impact environmental protection projects in the Global South with a particular focus on the African continent. This is about restoring degraded forests, protecting biodiversity, and creating long-term climate solutions rooted in local resilience.
Our mission is to restore and protect natural ecosystems through reforestation, habitat conservation, and climate action. By combining ecological integrity with social value, we strengthen the resilience of local communities and create long-term solutions for a livable and just future.
A healthy, biologically diverse environment is the foundation for global justice and intergenerational development.
We envision a world where environmental and climate protection go hand in hand with local empowerment. Nile Foundation aims to set internationally recognized standards for community-driven ecosystem restoration – financed through responsible partnerships and shaped by local participation.
Every Nile Foundation project is conceived and implemented as a long-term, sustainable joint venture between African and European partners. All our reforestation and forest conservation projects are aligned with the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals and, thanks to their socially oriented approach, maintain a very close and collaborative relationship with the local population.
